Matthew’s first experiences with the sea were childhood summer sailing holidays around Malta and Sicily on board the family-owned 15m sailing boat. Prior to graduating from the University of Malta with a Bachelors of Commerce (Hons) in Management, he spent a summer cruising the Peloponnese in Southern Greece. This experience encouraged him to work as crew on both sailing and motor yachts prior to him entering the shore-side of the yachting industry in 2006. A keen sailor, he’s participated in numerous Rolex Middle Sea Races and St Barth’s Buckets. Matthew keeps a close eye on the sales and retail charter sectors, is familiar with the key European shipyards and is fluent in three languages. He operates from Idea Yachting’s Malta office as a sales and charter broker as well as offering Superyacht Agency services through Gusman Yachting.
